A Celebration of Storytelling and Solidarity: The Nordic Palestinian Film Festival Returns in 2026

For immediate release

Stockholm — March 10, 2026

The Nordic Palestinian Film Festival (NPFF) is proud to announce its 2026 program, marking its third year of bringing a powerful selection of Palestinian cinema, poetry, and live cultural performances to audiences across Sweden between March – November 2026.

From the streets of Helsingborg to the northern lights of Luleå, NPFF continues its mission to amplify Palestinian voices and foster intercultural dialogue through the universal language of film.

Alongside the 2026 jury made up of four women — all powerful voices in film and journalism — NPFF will celebrate and reward international film makers by featuring an unprecedented line-up of Palestinian cinema.

— This year, we received 57 submissions from 24 countries—a testament to the growing resonance of Palestinian storytelling worldwide, says NPFF Founder & Director Wafá Jamil.

The 3rd edition of NPFF will kick off in Helsingborg on March 19, with consecutive screenings in Malmö & Lund the same weekend. Next up on the tour is Stockholm and Göteborg followed by Luleå, Uppsala, Visby, Växjö, and Husby.

— Each screening is more than just a film—it is an invitation to witness, to reflect, and to connect, even with the harshest of realities, explains Jamil.

🎬NPFF 2026 offers a rich tapestry of storytelling, including:

  • Documentary and fiction films by acclaimed and emerging Palestinian directors
  • Post-screening Q&A sessions with filmmakers and cultural workers
  • Live poetry readings, including performances from Letters from the Diaspora
  • Palestinian folk music, creating a space for both reflection and celebration
  • Community mingling with journalists, artists, and audiences

NPFF is created in close collaboration with local partners, including ABF, Folkets Bio, Filmcentrum, Filmpool Nord, Region Skåne, Råfilm and cultural venues such as Panora, Zita, Hagabio, and Café Ray and many others.
