The 2026 Festival Jury

Lo Kauppi – Head of Jury

Lo Kaupi is an actor, playwright, and author. For the past 25 years, she has been active as an actor. She has appeared in films such as Drifters (2015), The new man (2007), and most recently in the Netflix hit A Nearly Normal Family(2023). On several occasions, she has served as a jury member for the Tempo Documentary Film Festival and is now proud to be part of the Nordic Palestinian Film Festival jury for 2026. 

Siham Shurafa – Jury Member

Siham Shurafa is a Swedish based actor with Egyptian and Palestinian descent. She started in 2008 and has since performed at theatres such as the Royal Dramatic Theatre, the City Theatre, Scenkonst Sörmland, Folkteatern i Gävleborg. She is also filming movies and series and just finished shooting Diagnoser for SVT. Also thrilled to be a part of the Nordic Palestinian Film Festival jury for 2026.

Bissan Edwan – Jury Member 

Palestinian Writer & Journalist from Gaza | ICORN Guest Writer, Lund Municipality. Former director of Ibn Rushd Publishing House, she is the author of several books, including Letters from the Diaspora and The Trap of Tranquility. Currently based in Lund, Sweden, she offers poetry readings, literary performances, workshops, and talks on Palestinian literature and cultural resistance. 

Mia Engberg – Jury Member

Mia Engberg is a filmmaker, author, and researcher based in Stockholm. Her acclaimed film trilogy Belleville Baby, Lucky One, and Hypermoon explores time and memory in the intersection between fiction and documentary. She holds a PhD from Stockholm Uniarts and has written three essay books about cinema.
