Wafa Jamil Espvall: Founder & Director

 
Wafá Jamil is a Swedish Palestinian born & raised in occupied Gaza. She has been in film production for over 15 years. She focuses on different themes in her films including human rights issues and politics of identity. Her latest documentary film, Coffee for All Nations, was well received by audiences and film critics, winning several international prizes & is being translated into 6 languages. She also produced the My Life is a Film project in cooperation with Stockholm municipality. She has worked as a film director/producer for many local and international media production companies, including Wattan TV, Qatar TV, Kuwait TV, NHK, and CH4 – UK. She is a member of Nordic Women In Film and is a board member of Filmcentrum Riks in Sweden and has participated in many film festivals including Nordisk Panorama Film Festival, IDFA International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam, Aljazeera Balkans Documentary Film Festival, MEDIMED DOC Market.
 

Oraib Aloul: Chairperson

 

Oraib Aloul Qamhaw is a University Lecturer, in her studies and research she has been interested in Arabic with a didactic focus, language didactics, Socio-cultural factors that influence the development of multilingualism, Swedish as a second language, school-related language development and the integration process and cultural meetings.

 

Hafsa Bhat: Programme Director



Hafsa Bashir is a dynamic professional with a South Asian background and a Masters in Human Rights Peace and Conflict from the University of London. Based in Stockholm, she brings a wealth of experience in finance, partner relations, and foreign affairs, with notable roles at civil society organisations in India and Sweden. An expert in human rights, public policy implementation, funding and evaluation, Hafsa has extensively worked with women rights, gender and conflict. She excels in project management, planning, and coordination, with multilingual proficiency in Kashmiri, Urdu, Hindi, English, and Swedish fostering lasting professional relationships across Nordic Regions.

 

Talat Bhat: Art Director

Swedish Kashmiri activist, documentary filmmaker, Journalist and trade union campaigner based in Lund. He has a Master’s degree in Media Production and researching on the use & impacts of new media technologies in conflict zones. He is Board Secretary at Film Centrum Riks www.filmcentrum.se and vice President in Film Centrum Syd and also the project leader of Nordic Labour Film Festival in Malmö www.nlff.se.
